With ten referrals to the coaching network, Ginger Chiacchira of New Horizons, has used the one-on-one support from the Coaching Network to supplement and enhance New Horizons’ internal training. Ms. Chiacchira knows that new employees are sometimes reluctant to admit their challenges or lack of understanding to their supervisors but are willing to increase their knowledge and understanding. After new employment specialists complete their internal New Horizons training, and when the time is right for the individual, Ms. Chiacchira refers them to the Coaching Network for ten hours of FREE additional hands-on training by a qualified coach. 

Employment specialists have improved their confidence, knowledge, and performance after completing the Coaching Network training, including a better understanding of VR documentation completion and timing.  Additional referrals of more seasoned staff to the Coaching Network allowed the employment specialists to gain detailed knowledge about supporting individuals with specific disabilities, such as blind or visually impaired.  Ms. Chiacchira also found that many staff benefit from obtaining a new perspective or approach to providing employment services.  The knowledge shared by the Coaching Network enhances individuals’ knowledge of support strategies and how best to meet the needs of the individual.  Based on her referrals’ experiences, she highly recommends the Coaching Network to others!
