Level Up Indiana has created three new resources for pre-ets providers to assist career coaches in understanding evidence-based instruction and developing quality programming. Asynchronous Training CoursesThe first resource is nine online training courses which are located on the Indiana Vendor YesLMS. Each module is designed to take an hour or so to complete. VR Youth Counselors have registered career coaches for these individual modules. Career coaches will receive confirmation and a link to each module via email. New career coaches should contact their VR Youth Counselor to get registered. Each module provides information on evidence-based practices, tips and practical strategies for teaching and supporting students, and links to quality resources. We encourage learners to access the resources and videos to develop their knowledge and skills in each module. The courses are designed to be stand-alone and do not need to be taken in sequence. However, we do recommend completing 1.0 Introduction to Transition for foundational knowledge. Each module has a pre- and post-assessment so you can track your learning progress. The courses are: 1.0 Introduction to Transition This module provides foundational knowledge to understand transition’s multi-step process that can take some students many years to complete. This module outlines the laws, roles and responsibilities of all partners in the transition process, and how pre-ets contribute to students’ transition. Series 1 Effective Community-Based
Instruction This training series offers information on developing and implementing effective community-based instruction opportunities for job exploration, work-based learning, and post-secondary education. Effective Partnerships with Schools for Pre-ETS Students Series 2 looks at effective partnerships with communities and schools to support Pre-ETS students. Each module focuses on developing collaborative relationships with different groups of transition stakeholders. Access to Pre-ETS Underserved Populations The final series focuses on developing quality Pre-ETS activities that meet the needs and expectations of individual students and families from diverse backgrounds. This module provides a framework for reflection on the approach, activities, and purpose of services to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students. Pre-ETS Collaboration WebinarThe final resource is an asynchronous webinar that provides a background related to Pre-ETS and strategies for developing and implementing a Pre-ETS program. This webinar focuses on a practical process for collaborating with your secondary school staff. This webinar will be posted on the Level-Up Website.
