Upcoming: Foundational Training ACRE Course Begins January 9th

A new class of the Foundational Training ACRE Course is about to begin in January. Sign up to claim your spot!

This training is geared to employment specialists in their first or second year of working in the field. The content will provide foundational knowledge on Indiana-specific resources, opportunities, and information about the employment services model. Fundamental employment services content reviewed includes: Supported Employment, Customized Employment, Discovery, Job Development, Workplace Supports, Job-site Training, Assistive Technology, Long-term Support.

Training Logistics:

• A new cohort begins January 9th and will graduate with a National Certificate in Employment Services from the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) by March 31

• Forty-hour course separated into 6 lessons across 12 weeks 

• Each lesson will be available for two weeks, allowing flexibility for the time and pace at which material is reviewed.

• Cost: $56.25

The Intersection of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder & Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities

People with intellectual/developmental disabilities experience obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) equal to or more than people without disabilities. The cycles that come along with OCD can significantly affect someone’s quality of life. In our January Lunch & Learn, we will explore how OCD and related disorders can affect people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Some related disorders include body dysmorphic disorder and hoarding disorder.
