Join Level Up Indiana for the second webinar in our monthly Lunch & Learn Series. Tatiana Perilla, MSW, will be presenting on the Intersection of Depression and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.

Friday, December 2 from 11 am-12 pm ET via Zoom

In this webinar, participants will learn about ways that depression can affect individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD). This includes learning about ways depression can present and hearing about some real-life examples. Participants will also learn about some of the research done on this topic and recommendations on how to support individuals with IDD.

 Other topics that will be discussed include: 

• Factors that can cause and worsen depression 

• Possible indicators of depression in individuals with intellectual disabilities 

• How transition effects depression

• An overview of ways depression can present

• Real-life examples to help you understand how depression and IDD interact

• Strategies you can use when supporting individuals with IDD who are affected by depression

Welcome to the Team

Brianne is a disability professional with over twenty years of experience in the field of vocational rehabilitation. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Rehabilitation Counseling, and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. Her professional experience includes testifying in Social Security hearings as a Vocational Expert, providing disability and inclusion consultation to national and international companies, training employment services providers, and managing an employment services program. She is a member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals and an Associate with the American Board of Vocational Experts.
